Three Days of Matcha: Matcha Mint Body Scrub & Kiss Me Organics Matcha Giveaway

Matcha Mint Body Scrub An Unrefined Vegan

I love matcha powder so much and have been using it so often lately that I decided to spread this Kiss Me Organics giveaway over three separate posts – each with a recipe. What?! NEW recipes from me? It’s true and if you look very quickly you just might see those donkeys flying.

Kiss Me Organics Matcha Bag

I’ve got one 4-ounce bag of beautiful matcha tea powder to share with one of my U.S. readers, plus those in the U.S. and Canada can get a 15% discount on Kiss Me Organics matcha powder when they order through Amazon. Just use the code DYEAF4S8. Offer is valid today through December 15, 2014.

SOME REASONS TO CONSUME MATCHA*:

  1. Because matcha is the whole leaf (and not just brewed leaves like regular green tea), one cup gives you the antioxidant & nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of brewed green tea. You also consume the chlorophyll found in the leaves which may help balance the body’s pH.
  2. The antioxidants in matcha help our bodies fight disease by protecting our cells from free radicals. Catechin, an antioxidant found in green tea, may be especially powerful in fighting cancer.
  3. L-theanine, an amino acid found in green tea, promotes mental clarity combined with calmness. This amino acid also counterbalances the affect of the caffeine in green tea. A cup a day of matcha can help reduce stress.

Now, this first recipe isn’t something you eat (though it looks as if you could), but a refreshing treat for your bod. It’s would be ideal for helping clear a head stuffed from a cold or the flu and it takes only minutes to put together. It would also make a wonderful stocking stuffer and – hey – it even smells like the holidays! Look for my second matcha recipe – something decidedly edible – on November 14.

I’ve actually never tried matcha powder before. But the scrub recipe looks good, so I’d use it for that first :o) Thanks for the giveaway!

I’ve never tried matcha powder before, but I’ve seen it in a lot of places lately. I’m not a big tea drinker, but I love to bake so I would give it a go in cupcakes.

I haven’t yet tried it in cupcakes, but I’ve also seen lots of recipes for it that way. Thanks for commenting, Carrie!

I’ve never tried matcha because I can’t afford it! But, that scrub looks SO soothing. Perfect to take the edge off of my taxing art school final projects. I think matcha would be great thrown in banana bread for breakfast. I can’t stomach veggies in the morning whatsoever, so here I’d at least be able to!

I’m yet another person that hasn’t tried matcha. I keep saying I’m going to order some, and then putting it off. I really want to make this body scrub, so hopefully I’ll finally get that order done!

I’ve tried matcha through my husband’s first interest in it, but honestly never really understood the benefits, especially compared to green tea. I love these ideas for the holidays. My budget has recently been reduced….by choice (lovin’ it) so I’m doing a lot of DIY projects for gifts this year. This recipe is perfect for my three daughters!!! Thanks.

The way I understand it, Laura, drinking a cup of matcha means consuming a lot more nutrients and antioxidants because you’re getting the whole leaf rather than just a tea made from the leaves. Hope you love the scrub!

I love matcha powder green tea! It’s the best way to get that full flavor…tea bags don’t do it for me. (Though Trader Joe’s has good green tea).

It’s kinda true – once you try matcha, regular green tea tastes a little lightweight! Thanks for commenting, Candy!

I haven’t bought matcha before and have only used it when it’s come with green tea bags. i would put it in a smoothie, I think.

I very rarely ever drink tea. I’m just a big water drinker. Boring, I know, but that’s what I crave! I am in LOVE with your body scrub!!! I love those things and I bet the smell is divine with the peppermint. I have never tried matcha before but heard it gives you a lot of energy, too much if consumed too much! It would probably make me bounce off the walls, lol!

I’ve actually never tried matcha before, but I do have some moringa powder which has a similar taste to green tea. Moringa also has many health benefits. I love having it in my smoothie every day!

I’ve actually never used matcha before, but I’m dying to try it out. I’d love to use it in some smoothies (I bet it’d be good with pear and/or coconut) and maybe some cakes, too.
