So, Kel and I recently took a road trip to my hometown of Cleveland to take a break after the long, hot summer and the cookbook work, but primarily to spend time with my parents. Oh, and we also…got married! While we’ve been married in spirit for many years, we decided the time was right to “make it legal.” We kept it very low-key, casual (Kel wore head-to-toe Carhartt’s), simple, and also completely secret from my parents until about 30 minutes before the ceremony. I think it’s the first time in my life that I managed to surprise them! We were honored to have a small gathering of friends and family to witness the world’s shortest exchange of vows followed by dinner at the very vegan-friendly Village Martini & Wine Bar and a huge raspberry-filled chocolate cake courtesy of Vegan Sweet Tooth. There are only a few photos of the event, but you can see Kel and me here, along with a dear friend of my mom and dad’s who did the officiating honors.
Without further ado – welcome to the Virtual Vegan LINKY Potluck 17!
What is the VVLP? Well, it’s just like the Virtual Vegan Potluck – but this one happens every single week! Each and every Wednesday, you can come here to share your plant-based dishes in the following courses: Beverages, Appetizers, Breads, Soups/Stews, Salads, Sides, Mains, and Desserts.
Hosted by me, Angela of Canned Time and Poppy of Bunny Kitchen, you can enter the linky party via any one of our blogs. Each Potluck lasts for 5 days and then we tally up the most clicked recipe in each course and announce the winners on the first day of the following Potluck. Entry is super-simple and your recipes can be old ones or new ones – but they must be plant-based and cruelty-free.

Congratulations! When Dennis and I tied the knot we didn’t tell anyone! We just had someone come over and perform the ceremony in our living room, so yours was kind of fancy in comparison.
